Position Highlights

The School of Dance is seeking an experienced accompanist, skilled in piano and/or percussion for our ballet and modern dance classes for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Music Director for Dance
  • Provides piano accompaniment for ballet classes, and/or can provide piano and/or percussion accompaniment for modern dance classes
  • Accompany special classes, auditions, and master classes outside of the regular work week, on occasion
  • Substitute for classes, as needed
  • Effectively collaborate with the Dance Instructor during the dance class
  • Continue to expand their repertoire for dance classes
  • Attend meetings called by the Music Director for

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required
  • 1 year of dance accompaniment experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. of Music in piano or percussion
  • Three to five years of demonstrated experience in providing accompaniment for ballet and/or modern dance classes

FLSA: Non-Exempt
