International Student Services - an office of Arizona Global - strives to provide unparalleled support to international students, from admission through graduation and beyond. We are seeking a qualified candidate for an Application Support Specialist to assist us in this mission. This position will report to the Business Analyst, Sr and assist the on-going technical needs of students and staff interfacing through the international student and scholar software, sunapsis and client-facing portal, MyGlobal. This position will provide support to all aspects of sunapsis development, including application front-end development and technical support for end users.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a primary contact for sunapsis technical support questions and requests from users
  • Liaises with University IT staff and software vendors to resolve technical issues
  • Provides on-going maintenance and support for development of sunapsis e-forms and checklists
  • Provides quality control of client-facing interface, including language consistency across e-forms, accessible content in Plain English, and adherence to University of Arizona brand standards
  • Provides training to new users that covers system functionality and best practices
  • Assists with creation of business process documentation
  • Builds and runs sunapsis Custom Reports as needed
  • Tests software functionality, upgrades and enhancements
  • Monitors online web pages for consistency and usability, recommending changes as necessary
  • Provides secondary support for maintaining and updating International Student Services website through Drupal

Knowledge,
Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of automated and manual management information systems
  • Knowledge of HTML and Drupal
  • Knowledge of analytical reporting with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of forms design and procedures development
  • Knowledge of communicating technical information to technical and non-technical users
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience AND one year of relevant work experience required, OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sunapsis
  • Experience with University of Arizona data systems
  • Experience working with international students in higher education
  • Experience in a customer service environment with an emphasis in resolving computer and other technology problems
  • Excellent communication and analysis skills
