Manhattanville College is seeking an Assistant to the Dean/Office Manager. This position is responsible for the the oversight of the School of Education. The position reports to the Dean of the School of Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedules meetings for the Dean and manages the Dean’s calendar
  • Assists the Dean in preparing documents for meetings, events, and other School-related activities
  • Works with the Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, Directors, Department Chairs, Committee Chairs, and staff to coordinate events and meetings
  • Works with the external community (e.g., school districts, departments of education, accreditation agency, state and national associations, and advisory boards) to schedule and coordinate meetings related to the Dean’s office
  • Maintains communication with partnership schools and liaisons
  • Assists the Dean in communicating with potential partners and donors
  • Assists the Dean with special projects and research
  • Assists with searches of administrative personnel and faculty
  • Manages all facets of student worker recruitment and responsibilities for the School of Education
  • Acts as point person for all Information Technology and phone issues
  • Coordinates moves and work orders within the School of Education
  • Serves as back up for office operations as needed
  • Receives and assists students in the main office and directs student inquiries to the appropriate person
  • Attends and participates in College sponsored special events
  • Assists with agendas/keeps minutes for meetings related to partnership schools
  • Assists with outreach to school districts in region
  • Maintains contracts/agreements
  • Helps to organize, implement, and host School of Education events
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Proficiency with technology, especially Microsoft Office tools
  • High level of professionalism; ability to exercise discretion and good judgment
  • Ability to multi-task with many different types of responsibilities
  • Skillful in working with faculty, administrators, students, community partners, and other professionals related to Manhattanville College School of Education
  • Ability to develop and assist with the writing of multiple documents related to the oversight of the School of Education

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • A minimum of two years of Administrative experience
  • Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to adapt to different situations
  • Familiar working in a Higher Education setting

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
