Job Description

This faculty position will be filled as either a Clinical Track or Tenure-Track appointment at open rank, depending on qualifications and experience of the candidate. Responsibilities include: Provide diagnostic Veterinary Clinical Pathology Service including cytology, hematology and clinical chemistry; Adhere to the AAVLD:ISO 172025 standards in the Clinical Pathology Lab; Provide clinical pathology instruction in the DVM professional program; Train Clinical Pathology residents including teaching graduate level courses, and engage in collaborative research; Actively participate in weekly slide seminar and journal clubs; Adhere to the responsibilities of the faculty as described by the Faculty Handbook (www.provost.vt.edu/fhb.html).

Required Qualifications

D.V.M. or equivalent;
Diplomate of ACVP or ECVP (Clinical Pathology);
MS or PhD;
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Significant experience in diagnostic clinical pathology;
Excellent teaching skills;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a collaborative team member.
