Associate Vice President of Student Affairs

The Associate Vice President of Student Affairs (AVP) a full-time 12-month administrative position reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs. The AVP is responsible for providing overall leadership and coordination for student development and retention programs across the college and coordination of these efforts within Student Affairs, including leadership in areas that assist the college in identifying barriers to student success and promote equity and inclusion across the college.
The AVP has responsibility, supervision, and budgetary authority for multiple areas including Dean of Students, advising (including academic and career & transfer), student life, disability services, veterans' resources, and conduct process appeals, along with shared responsibility for Title IX/VAWA compliance. This position may be required to work out of any ACC campus location and may work some hours remotely. After-hours or weekend work may be required. Some occasional local, regional, and/or national travel may be required.

- Ability to appropriately use and demonstrate proficiency with standard office productivity software and tools.
- A commitment to and understanding of the vision and mission of a comprehensive community college.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three years of full-time administrative experience within a post-secondary student affairs division or comparable setting, including the evaluation of employees.
- Experience in assessment and program development.
- Experience managing effective and positive change.
- Clear understanding and experience with student development, equity, and identity as it relates to student populations served by the college.
- Doctorate in a higher education or related field.
- Five years of full-time administrative experience within a post-secondary student affairs division or comparable setting, including the evaluation of employees.
- Enrollment management experience.
- Experience with Banner or related student information technologies and systems.
- Leadership or involvement at a system or state level.
Physical & Cognitive Demands
The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
- Occasionally moves, positions, and transports standard office supplies and equipment weighing up to 10 lbs.
- This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- May be required to work out of any ACC campus location. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.

Advertised Salary Range
Starting salary for this position is $108,929 to $122,000, commensurate with education and experience. AP 3-45 provides information regarding salary placement and adjustments. This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
