The department of Learning Sciences and Human Development in the College of Education & Human Services at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Program Manager.

About the Opportunity

As a Program Manager, you willbe responsible for assisting the RSA Innovative Training Project AIR4VR with its grant responsibilities. The project's purpose is to provide in the Accessible, Innovative, and Relevant Training for Vocational Rehabilitation Personnel in Pre-Employment Transition Services. The training program consists of three online courses, skill enhancement exercises delivered through virtual simulation lab and social virtual reality environment; an online course in ethics and a Community of Practice Building Strength based practitioners and practices in Pre-ETS to include two webcasts trainings and coaching calls.

The successful candidate will manage a variety of tasks related to all phases of the project's products' life cycle initiation or development, planning, execution, and closure. This will include documentation of team meetings, evaluating products needed to implement tasks in the project, opening training cohorts for online course delivery, scheduling real time training events, communication with participants, and reporting to the project lead. They will also be responsible for maintaining data and supporting the PI in reporting to the granting agency on project outcomes and budget expenditures, as well as communicating with team members related to program evaluation. The person will be expected to communicate with stakeholders. These responsibilities may include some travel.

This position allows for flexibility in work location, including potential hybrid or remote work / work from home options. Travel to the WVU Campus may need to occur based on organizational needs throughout the year.

What you'll do:

35% Managing Grant Activities

  • Create monthly list of objectives for each month, based on grant timeline and objectives, and distribute.
  • Construct monthly report of completed objectives, submit to granting agency, and retain for records.
  • Construct quarterly progress reports, assist with creating presentations for stakeholders, and retain for records.
  • Construct yearly review, assist with creating presentations for stakeholders, submissions to granting agency, and retain information for records.

35% Training Activities

  • Ensure each delivery of training has been scheduled, communications are delivered, participants have been entered into appropriate learning management system and have orientation materials and be able to answer questions from participants.
  • Arrange accommodations for training participants and instructors with disabilities.
  • Maintain records of accessibility compliance of training materials and delivery.

25% Research and Program Evaluation Activities

  • Provide support for program evaluation to include updating registrations from data management system, running reports.
  • Assistin the development of program evaluation tools, techniques, and methods.
  • Communicate with subject matter experts in their reviews as necessary.
  • Assist with the creation of conference submissions, presentations, and research journal submissions.
  • Gather evaluations from sessions.

5% Organizational Duties

  • Take notes at team meetings.
  • Manage scheduling of meetings, communicate with team.

  • Master's degree in related field (such as rehabilitation counseling) requiredOR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two (1-2)years of experience:
    • Working in the area of rehabilitation.
    • Working on a funded grant project or a training program.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to work as a team member to accomplish unit goals.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, problem-solve, collaborate, and work independently.
  • Excellent computer skills (writing and data bases).
  • The successful candidate must:
    • Be self-motivated and dedicated to fulfilling their responsibilities.
    • Be results-oriented with strong time management skills.
    • Take responsibility for his/her job requirements.
    • Successfully fulfill the role with minimum supervision/oversight.
    • Be an effective oral and verbal communicator and dynamic presenter.
    • Be able to manage multiple priorities with a high level of detail.
