About this role:

As a visual designer for External Communications, you will create imagery that persuades, sells, inspires, informs, and delights in support of mission-aligned initiatives. In this role, you will serve as a team expert in visual storytelling and align meaningful messages to diverse influencer audiences. You are someone who revels in conveying complex ideas and quantitative information simply and elegantly. You have a passion for design, typography and user experience as critical components of effective brand-building across all media channels including seasonal campaigns, website landing pages, emails, video, motion graphics, digital banners, direct mail, advertising, signage and other marketing collateral.

What you'll do...

  • Designs engaging, effective visual content including presentations, websites, merchandise, motion graphics, and digital or print collateral;

  • Applies best-practices in design skills to create proof-of-concepts and mockups;

  • Rapidly produces multiple concepts for stakeholder feedback and audience testing;

  • Works closely with the Communications team to ensure designs are aligned with desired goals and outcomes;

  • Ensures designs are on-brand, completed on time, and meet the team's standards of quality;

  • Implements design direction provided by lead designer

  • Serves as production artist in making text and design edits provided by stakeholders

  • Reviews graphics, layouts, and brand elements before designs are completed.

  • Suggests and makes improvements to images and image quality in print and digital formats.

  • Develops and maintains a collaborative relationship with all appropriate internal and external stakeholders;

  • Stays current with design trends and emerging media technologies;

  • Models leadership and professionalism;

  • Fulfills other duties as assigned;

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

  • Expert in crafting visual communication aligned with the audience needs and project goals;

  • Master of the user-centered design process - ability to strategically iterate based on audience and stakeholder feedback;

  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, and other industry standard design and content production tools;

  • Experience in content design and production for presentation, web, mobile, and print delivery;

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills;

  • Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in a fast-paced environment;

  • Conceptual knowledge of web/software development;

  • Strong attention to detail and a feeling of pride and ownership over the quality of your work

What you'll need...

  • Bachelor's degree in design or related field

  • 3+ years of professional-level design experience

  • Strong portfolio of relevant design projects

  • In-depth knowledge of printing processes and software applications, including Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects

Nice to have...

  • Master's degree

Working Conditions
