The UITS Research Technologies team seeks an IT Business Analyst to work with our team and campus partners. This position will provide support to team members and the campus community for technical projects and applications. Responsibilities will include gathering requirements, analyzing issues, testing and delivering solutions through focused training, documentation and support to the UITS customer base. The Research Development and Technology unit has a strong culture of team members who work well together, sharing our experience, support, and knowledge, as we implement and maintain solutions for our Research Investigators and campus partners.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Creates functional and technical requirements documents based on input from researchers, subject matter experts, and team as part of the overall project and system design.
- Plans for implementation, integration and maintenance of solutions into business process or system design.
- Tests software, releases, and new system functionality.
- Participates with team members and management in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project goals and objectives.
- Provide prompt and professional response to requests for support, as well as outreach to campus partners and liaisons.
- Participates in problem solving in areas such as system design, input/output requirements and procedural flow.
- Uses data analytics to assess processes.
- Reviews data logs and investigates errors.
- Submits vendor tickets for system bugs and enhancement requests.
- Creates communications, alerts, agendas, and announcements.
- Review self-help materials and knowledgebase content for accuracy and usability. Recommend improvements and new content needs.
- Share knowledge with team members through various means, including team-meeting presentations, and the use of collaboration tools.
- Create "how-to" documentation, FAQs, and web content
- Help develop online course content and schedule training classes.

- Demonstrated pattern of excellent communication and writing for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and meet negotiated timelines with high quality deliverables.

- Strong management and organizational skills.
- Adaptable, and capable of working on varied projects and priorities
- Knowledgeable regarding data analysis, report writing, and SQL query architecture.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service, technical problem solving, as well as addressing and resolving barriers.
- Ability to establish, maintain and sustain positive, professional working relationships internally and cross-functionally.
- Proficiency with electronic support ticketing systems.
- Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to learn job related skills through on the job training, including observation, written and oral instruction, and formal training sessions.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required AND minimum 5 years of relevant work experience; OR,
- Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in a higher-education setting.
- Technically adept, with 5 or more years' experience in the field of Information Technology, customer, and system support.
