Job Description

Temporary Office Pool - Facilities Staff

The temporary Residential Life Facilities Staff assists the Facilities Supervisors with all summer projects. Specifically, this position ensures that all residential life facility areas are properly furnished and maintained including conducting ongoing inspection and evaluation of all resident housing facilities.

The temporaryFacilities Staff will assist with all activities related to the off-site warehouse, including maintaining order and control within the space, coordinating deliveries, and working with the Boston College warehouse supervisor as necessary. Other daily responsibilities include managing deliveries of large furniture replacements items, moving furniture, cutting and hanging shades, changing furniture inserts, and performing light furniture refurbishing/refinishing as needed.

Requirements
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and repairs to furnishings
  • Must have good customer service skills
  • Must be able handle a fast-paced environment and to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to be a team player, to work independently and to be a self-starter
  • Flexible schedule necessary to accommodate emergency situations or off-hours furniture deliveries
  • Some weekends and evenings are required
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift, carry, and move large furniture items weighing up to 50 lbs with assistance
