Position Highlights

The University of Arizona Health Sciences - Division of Human Resources invites individuals with a passion for problem-solving and customer service to join our team as the Talent Acquisition Assistant (Talent Assistant) . We are looking for individuals who have an extreme passion for teamwork, customer service and continual self-development. You will serve as the first point of contact to college and departments on HR search, selection and hiring related questions and partner with HR subject-matter experts within the team. The Talent Assistant will be primarily be responsible for entering, reviewing tracking and approving ATS requisitions and offer letters for the University of Arizona Health Sciences. The team member selected should be familiar with initiating HR systems transactions (ATS, HRIS, or other). This position is expected to manage 60% HR transactional support. Additional professional development opportunities include participating in the development of recruitment and hiring training and attending virtual and in-person career fairs.

Remote work available with campus home in Phoenix or Tucson.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Answers a diverse array of phone calls, and emails, requests from applicants, employees, and department representatives.
  • Assists departments in navigating the University's applicant tracking system and updating job postings.
  • Review the daily recruitment process for efficiency, effectiveness, and equity related to HR & DOL Hiring guidelines.
  • Processes and approves requisitions and offer letters for UAHS.
  • Advise departments/hiring managers on recruiting best practices, following Federal/State/University guidelines, and/or recruitment policies.
  • Use analytics and other databases to produce reports related to demographics, statistics, etc...
  • Provide guidance on screening committee best practices, acceptable interview questions, the interview, responding to interviewees, reference collection, and the recruitment follow-up.
  • Reviews and interprets human resources policies and procedures relevant to recruitment and employment activities and advises department representatives and the public.
  • Implements and maintains strategies that support community outreach, the identification of qualified, diverse candidates, and relationship-building with candidates.
  • Performs activities supporting the recruitment, screening, and referrals of applicants so that the organization's recruitment process is efficient, effective and equitable.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Skilled in problem analysis and resolution.
  • Skilled written and verbal communicator.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others and be an advocate of human resources best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a changing environment while demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure/stress.

Minimum Qualifications

Equivalences may include (but are not limited to) the
following:

* High school diploma and five (5) years of related
experience; OR
* Associate's degree and three (3) years of related
experience; OR
* Bachelor's degree and one (1) year related experience;
* OR other combination approved by UA

Preferred Qualifications

*Previous work experience in a HR setting.

*Previous work experience in a college or university setting.

*Previous experience using an applicant tracking system.

*Two or more years of direct customer service experience.

*SHRM/PHR certification.
