West Virginia University's Information Technology Services is currently accepting applicaitons for an Enterprise Collaboration Administrator.

About the Opportunity

As an Enterprise Collaboration Administrator, you will beresponsible for administration, management, maintenance, and support for West Virginia University's Collaboration suite primarily in a Microsoft 365 environment. This position will be responsible for the overall success of Email, Online File Sharing, Unified Communications, Collaboration, and additional Collaboration Services for West Virginia University and its branch campuses.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as an Exchange Administrator for West Virginia University, managing mailboxes, mail flow, policies, and security in Exchange Online for West Virginia University and its branch campuses.
  • Serve as a Microsoft 365 administrator for West Virginia University administering and maintaining all new and existing services and features within Microsoft 365, including but not limited to, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Groups, Microsoft Teams, PowerApps, Flow, and Planner. This position is required to maintain an expert-level technical skillset and knowledge regarding these systems and services and can articulate the business impact of new and existing technologies within West Virginia University.
  • Maintain Expert-Level technical expertise in all facets of the Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and Zoom systems for the purposes of developing roadmaps and documentation to ensure the continued success and improvements of these services.
  • Monitor changes in Microsoft 365 applications and work with communications staff to communicate changes to end-users and support staff

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Develop best practices and guidelines for systems and services used for Collaboration, Unified Communications, Bulk Email Distribution, Online File Sharing, Surveys, and Service Management
  • Develop and/or perform test plans for new and existing services and applications.
  • Partner with other administrators to:
    • Execute Jira Service Management (JSM) tool administration, configuration, customization, maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements to JSM.
    • Ensure team productivity through the configuration of the Atlassian Jira and Confluence software tools, customizing workflow processes, reports, and systems.
    • Develop metrics, dashboards, reports, and advanced filters to provide University groups and leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents, reported by business units or end-users
  • Work with other technical support units to provide solutions to customer technology requests/needs
  • Provide cross-training on areas of primary responsibility to other team members.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a related field and / or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the following:
    • Administering Microsoft O365
    • Microsoft Exchange Online
    • Microsoft PowerShell
    • Working with IT Service Management Tools
    • Experience with Various Collaboration Technologies
    • Solving Complex technical problems
    • Providing customer support for IT systems or applications
    • Writing technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Expert knowledge in administering the day-to-day operation of an enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 environment
  • Expert knowledge in administering various collaboration suites
  • Expert knowledge with Microsoft Exchange Online
  • General knowledge of networking - IP, DNS, SMTP
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems, using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate highly technical issues and resolutions to non-technical users.
