Proposed Salary: According to the Kellogg Community College Hay Administrative Compensation program, the 2021-2022 annual salary range for a Manager 1 position, $56,204 to $70,257 to start.

Physical Demands
The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 - 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and, may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising or related field, obtained from an accredited college or university.
- Advanced writing abilities and ability to write appropriately for distinct audiences.
- One to two (1-2) years of experience in social media administration/content development.
- One to two (1-2) years of experience managing websites with a basic understanding of relevant technologies and best practices.
- Advanced understanding of social media, including specific site functionalities and best practices, as well as the ability to communicate appropriately within each unique platform while also integrating social elements into larger work and campaigns elsewhere on- and offline.
- Basic understanding of photo/video equipment, including DSLR cameras and editing software.
Preferred but not Required
- Basic understanding of digital/online advertising platforms and best practices as related to marketing strategy, including terms like CPC, CPM, impressions, reach and frequency.
- Experience developing digital/online advertising strategy and executing digital/online ad campaigns.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines at any given time for multiple internal and external audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and strategic planning skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Bridge, Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Experience with Web content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML.
- Experience working with a diverse population and strong customer service skills.

Essential Function
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENTDescription
- Manage the College's main social media presences, including:
- daily content development
- posting
- promotion
- communication/customer service
- crisis communication via social media channels and the website
- Create and maintain college-wide social media directory of official college channels and weekly/monthly social media content calendar and manage training and coordination of social media managers and content across the College
- Monitor daily the College's online reputation, as well as keeping current with the latest trends and updates in the field
Essential Function
WRITING AND DISTRIBUTIONDescription
- Write ad and social media copy, website copy, press releases, human interest stories and other materials as needed for College publications, in print and digital formats, adhering to best practices in regards to style, SEO, etc., as relevant and appropriate
- Post content to the KCC Daily blog and college website, send press releases and distribute other Marketing and Communications content as needed by the department
Essential Function
WEBSITE MANAGEMENT AND DIGITAL ADVERTISINGDescription
- Work in coordination with the Process Specialist, Graphic Design, to manage the content side of the official college website, including the creation and maintenance of timely and relevant content for a variety of internal and external audiences and ensuring content access and functionality across the site
- Create and maintain an ongoing, current page author directory and manage page author training
- Execute digital/social advertising strategy, including the creation and ongoing maintenance/administration of digital/social advertising across College platforms, as well as seeking out and advising on additional advertising opportunities as needed
- Create and maintain weekly/monthly advertising reports reporting ad performance to the Marketing Director
Essential Function
PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHYDescription
- Act as the official college photographer and videographer, shooting, editing and publishing photos and videos for the college website, social media platforms, print publications, advertising and for other uses as needed by the College, including by community and press request
- Work with the Process Specialist, Graphic Design and other department staff as needed, including interns, to coordinate the photo scheduling, shooting, editing and archiving process
