Under the direction of the Director of the Center for Student Engagement (CSE), this position is responsible for improving student leadership standards and outcomes and new student programs. This position is responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing orientation and co-curricular programs for the diverse College community. This position is expected to serve as a student advocate in all capacities.
- Co-Coordinator for all undergraduate student orientation programming including logistics, planning and implementation of Summer and Fall Orientation
- Advise the Sophomore and First Year Class Councils to assist with creating and executing traditional events
- Collaborate with divisional partners to aid in various divisional programming initiatives such as the Summer Scholars Program, Civic Engagement, and the Early Move-In Program
- Coordinate divisional communication efforts including marketing and outreach to new and transfer students and the This Week at Regis weekly email
- Coordinate divisional representation on social media with routine engagement of the Regis community, including impromptu communication
- Assist the Director of the CSE with collection of data for assessment of the Center for Student Engagement
- Assist the Director of the Center for Student Engagement with the coordination and management of club and organization events, evening and weekend events, and traditional college-wide events (Welcome Week, Student Club Fair, Christmas Tree Lighting, and Spring Week)
- Assist the Director of the CSE with the development and facilitation of a leadership curriculum
- Work with Center for Student Engagement team to address the personal, social and academic needs of students
- Supervise student employees including coordinating schedules, approving hours, and maintaining expectations for the role in question
- Support recruitment of student employees including submission of job posting(s) and selection of students
- Sit on planning committees throughout the university to represent the division, including but not limited to Commencement Committee, Orientation Working Group, etc.
Residence Life Responsibilities
- Train in incident management and crisis protocol with the Office of Residence Life
- Serve as a member of the Administrator On Call (AOC) team to include the following responsibilities:
- Respond to on-campus issues or concerns as they arise; facilitate response with appropriate parties, serve as support staff to Professional Staff On Call, Resident Assistants, and Campus Police wherever needed
- Communicate with appropriate offices on campus regarding the welfare of residents
- Supervises undergraduate work study employees
- Duties require a Master's degree in Student Affairs/Higher Education/Student Development (or related degree and professional experience equivalent); knowledge of student development, student activities and counseling; and two to four years of related experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience in communications with various stakeholders (social media, mass emails, graphics/flyers, newsletters)
- 2+ years of project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Ability to uphold the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
- Occasional exposure to extreme noise at campus events.
- Requires regular work outside during events.
- May be required to carry large boxes, move furniture and perform physical activities for training programs.
- Use of computer keyboards, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
- Involves attendance at evening and weekend events and meetings
