Chestnut Hill College (CHC) seeks a founding Executive Director of its Neurodiversity/IDD Life Skills Program. Founded by the Sisters of Saint Joseph, CHC is an independent, Catholic institution that fosters excellence by providing a holistic education within a strong liberal arts tradition. The mission of the College is dedicated to serving the Dear Neighbor--student, faculty, staff, the surrounding community, and our global neighbors--without distinction. 

Purpose: Serve as founding Executive Director to provide leadership and vision for the College’s Neurodiversity/IDD Life Skills Program at our Sugar Loaf and Main campus. Overall management of this two-year residential program focuses on building life skills and independent living skills for young adults on the Spectrum and/or with IDD. This program includes a Comprehensive Transition Program (CTP) with the College. Create and nurture an inclusive living, learning community grounded in respect and dignity and where the gifts of each individual are appreciated and celebrated.


  • Earned Doctorate in Human Services, Clinical Psychology, Special Education, or a related field preferred, master’s degree required
  • 10 years of progressive experience working with neurodiverse and intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals and their families
  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing and directing programs that support neurodiverse and intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals and their families
  • Familiarity with Pennsylvania state laws and regulations pertaining to managing a Human Services agency and obtaining Provider status and funding from OVR and ODP
  • Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills
  • Support the Mission of the College


  • Develop and manage enrollment process including marketing, student and family recruitment, establish partnerships with private and public high schools, admissions criteria and screening.
  • Collaborate with the Neurodiversity/IDD team to develop a comprehensive Life Skills curriculum with measurable goals and effective assessment to accurately measure skills gained.
  • Effective fiduciary management including maximizing revenue and oversight of overall budget processes.
  • Establish Provider status and maintain effective relationships with OVR, ODP and DHS to support student enrollment and retention, including ensuring appropriate documentation and billing procedures.
  • Collaborate with Communications to provide oversight of public relations, including website, social media and marketing initiatives
  • Collaborate with Institutional Advancement to engage in networking, donor and foundation cultivation, fundraising, and grant writing to support financial sustainability and the goals of the program
  • Active engagement with Graduate School faculty in the development of family systems curriculum and experiential learning opportunities for graduate students in clinical psychology, human services, and special education
  • Active engagement with the Dean and School of Undergraduate Studies faculty to develop and deliver a Comprehensive Transitional Program (CTP) as part of the Life Skills program
  • Establish partnerships to support internships, apprenticeships, and micro-credentials to support future employment
  • Ensure on-going compliance with Federal, State, and City regulations. Maintain existing certification and secure future accreditations and certifications.
  • Strategic planning and assessment to support the sustainability and expansion of the program
  • Develop risk management and emergency protocols with on-going training and assessment.
  • Ensure facilities and grounds are properly maintained in collaboration with the Director of Facilities Management.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with the College Disabilities Resource Center, Public Safety, Information Technology, and Dining Services to support the student experience.
  • Nurture on-going relationship with alumni and alumni families
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean
