Job Summary
The Director of Institutional Assessment will, under the leadership of the Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness, design, implement and oversee the institution-wide university assessment plan.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Oversees the University’s external reporting, internal reporting and analysis in support of institutional assessment, planning, and decision making.
  • Oversees University-wide assessment processes and practices in support of student learning and institutional effectiveness.
  • Serves as a central resource for institutional data and play a central role in the development and monitoring of meaningful assessment indicators.
  • Assesses institutional outcomes and coordinates reporting and serves as liaison for NWCCU accreditation.
  • Produces reports in conjunction with academic programs related to assessment of student learning outcomes.
  • Prepares and submits external reports to a timely basis to include, but not limited to: IPEDS, NCPE and other external agencies.
  • *Collects, compiles, organizes, analyzes, interprets and verifies accuracy and completeness of data and/or information used for planning, decision making and institutional effectiveness.
  • Develops and updates the University fact book.
  • Maintains the University web presence for Institutional Research and Effectiveness.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individual must possess the knowledge and following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:
  • Sufficient expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power Automate),statistical analysis packages, and data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI) or appropriate software (Blackbaud SIS).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams to develop high-quality projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing persuasive, clear, concise, and visually attractive proposals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; and the ability to proactively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Process strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and the ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with students, faculty, and administrators.
  • Master’s degree in relevant field of study is preferred; Bachelor’s degree is acceptable with appropriate experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of successful experience in higher education institutional research and assessment including planning, designing, and conducting research.
