This is an on-campus, face to face position.
Teach courses within Philosophy and/or Interdisciplinary Humanities (Art History, Classical Studies, Humanities, Philosophy, and Religious Studies) on campus face-to-face and either hybrid or online, consistent with current developments in the disciplines and teaching methods. Participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, scheduling courses for faculty, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and College initiatives. Work collaboratively with other colleagues as a member of the Interdisciplinary Humanities Program (IH), understanding that the Philosophy Program goals and outcomes are interconnected with IH. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Master's Degree in Philosophy (from a regionally accredited college or university) or a Master's degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) with a minimum of 18 semester graduate credits (or the equivalent number of quarter hours) in Philosophy.
Fully responsible teaching experience at the college level with respect to philosophy courses.
Doctoral Degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) in Philosophy or doctoral degree with + 18 semester graduate credits (or the equivalent number of quarter hours) in Philosophy.
Additional Master's Degree in Humanities (from a regionally accredited college or university) or a Master's Degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) in a related field or a minimum of 18 semester graduate credits (or the equivalent number of quarter hours) in humanities disciplines.
Fully responsible teaching experience at the college level with respect to humanities courses.
