The Financial Analyst provides management and oversight of fixed asset accounting, auxiliary financial reporting and assists in the preparation of the annual 1098-T IRS student tax forms. Responsibilities include the capitalization of property, plant, equipment, and construction projects and inventory management. This position also performs quarterly and ad hoc financial analysis and compliance reporting for auxiliary departments. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 1-3 years of experience in accounting with emphasis on financial analysis and/or fixed assets or 3-5 years of relevant experience with other business related degree. CPA certification or CPA candidate is preferred. Candidates must have strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and technological skills, a demonstrated commitment to open collaboration and customer service, strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Access). Experience working with higher education ERP systems and knowledge of accounting standards for colleges and not-for-profits and is highly desirable.

This position is responsible for fixed asset accounting, which includes overseeing the capitalization of property, plant, equipment, and construction projects. Maintains the integrity of fixed asset accounting in Banner by establishing strong internal controls, such as ensuring accounting adjustments are made through Banner and directly to the Banner database tables. This position provides financial analysis to University officials for use in managing the assets of the University, particularly for auxiliary funds. This position is also responsible for providing fixed asset figures and some notes for the annual financial statements, and participating in the annual state board audit.
