Clinical Laboratory Scientist
To perform numerous automated and manual laboratory procedures within the Clinical Pathology Laboratory. The data obtained from these procedures aids in the clinical diagnosis of sick and injured inpatient and outpatient animals. Provides customer service to those who submit samples to the Veterinary Teaching hospital Laboratory Services. Performs procedures to prepare, expedite, and facilitate laboratory analysis of specimens, routing those specimens to the correct inhouse or external laboratory and distributing generated reports.
Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical lab science, biology, chemistry, or related field or equivalent level training/experience; comprehensive knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures; working knowledge of biomedical equipment; certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS) National Crediting Agency (NCA); must have the ability to work well with others; must be able to learn new procedures and be adaptable; must be able to safely move and handle up to 50 lbs.; must be willing to report to work during inclement weather closings.
Experience in a medical diagnostic laboratory setting.
$40,000-$45,000 commensurate with experience
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as documentation ofCOVID-19 vaccinationor receive approval from the university for a vaccination exemption due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
