Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a full-time Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Student Outreach.

F&M is in the public phase of Now to Next: the Campaign for Franklin & Marshall College. The most ambitious fundraising effort in the College's history, Now to Next seeks to raise $200 million by the end of 2021 to advance academic excellence, including expanding student aid and recruitment; strengthen the student experience; and support the unrestricted Franklin & Marshall Fund. As of the public launch of Now to Next in October 2018, more than 65 percent of the goal had been achieved.

Job Description:

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving for Participation is responsible for increasing donor participation to Franklin & Marshall, particularly from alumni. Manages Student Annual Giving outreach program, including hiring and management of student employees; meeting dollar and donor goals for the program and the ongoing formation of strategies to meet those goals. Manages Senior Class Gift Campaign. Plans and execute solicitations, events and stewardship.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, manage, and evaluate the Student Annual Giving outreach program, including the Dip Dialer program, to ensure annual growth in dollars and donors, and employment of student employees. Recruit, train, and provide leadership for paid callers. Set goals and design and implement a strategy to achieve goals. Proactively identify, propose, and implement program enhancements to achieve objectives.
  • Responsible for success of the Senior Campaign. Recruit and manage Senior Class Campaign committee. Devise and execute strategies to instill a culture of philanthropy among students. Develop partnerships across campus to achieve Senior Campaign goals.
  • Support the work of the broader Alumni Relations & Annual Giving team, including performing direct solicitations, organizing and supporting on and off campus constituent engagement events, with special support for alumni participation, especially GOLD strategy. Serve as Annual Giving liaison for ALOT program. Manage assigned budget and volunteers. Represent College Advancement at events, including evenings and weekends.
  • Coordinate and staff volunteer phonathons.

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred
  • Fundraising experience and experience organizing or supervising volunteers or employees is preferred
  • Intermediate experience in Google Suite or Microsoft Office required
  • Intermediate experience in Databases required
  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve departmental goals and to provide excellent service to internal and external constituents
  • Ability to be an ambassador of the College, its mission and College Advancement

The ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
