Job Summary
This technician is needed for an NIH-funded research study (grant 431570 NIH) to collect accurate ultrasound measures, including maternal abdominal measures, arterial measures, and placental and fetal measures in pregnant women.

  1. Conducts ultrasound assessments on pregnant women
  2. Works with faculty, staff, and student research assistants in the Exercise Science laboratory
  3. Collects and stores ultrasound images
  4. Instructs staff and student research assistants on ultrasound techniques
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent

Required Experience
At least six (6) months of experience conducting ultrasound scans.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the Association of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or similar accredited program

Preferred Experience
Experienced with prenatal and cardiovascular imaging

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlines

Use of ultrasound equipment
Knowledge of collecting images based on predetermined landmarks

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
