The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford (UICOMR) seeks applications for the full-time position of Sr. Research Specialist in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Research focus areas include medical education and curriculum evaluation & assessment. This person is a principal contributor in developing specific research project requirements and is responsible for all aspects of the project from development through delivery. This person will perform complex study and data collection methods and may coordinate and direct the work and research tasks of research staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social science field required, PhD in a social science field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years related research, assessment, and evaluation experience
  • Possess and apply advance knowledge of research and evaluation and assessment principles with related methodology
  • Knowledge of data analysis software platforms such as SPSS, SAS, and/or Access
  • Proven track record of successful publication in peer reviewed journals

The regional campus in Rockford is part of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, one of the largest medical schools in the United States. This position will work closely with the National Center for Rural Health Professions, Department of Family and Community Medicine, and the Office of Medical Education and Evaluation to impact the quality of education offered at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and healthcare provided in the region. UICOMR is a fully accredited four-year medical college with the largest rural medical education programs in the country.

Rockford is a progressive, diverse, mid-sized metropolitan area in northern Illinois, west of Chicago.
