Position Highlights

The Department of East Asian Studies is seeking a short term, winter session teaching position from 12/20/2021 through 1/11/2022. The Winter Session Instructor position is part-time, non-tenure eligible, non-benefits eligible and will provide instruction to undergraduates in Chinese.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teaching EAS subject course CHN 241
  • Holding office hours
  • Planning class lectures and assignments
  • Grading papers and exams
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chinese or in related field of study
  • Experience teaching college-level classes

Preferred Qualifications

* At least two years demonstrated teaching experience (online or face-to-face.) in Chinese

* Digital Learning Platform experience (Vista, Cengage, Pearson, etc.) Learning Management System Experience (D2L, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)

* Completion of a Quality Matters workshop (online program)

* History of professional development activities for online teaching and/or course design
