Department Information
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, with about 20 full time faculty members, is one of six departments in the College of Science and Mathematics. With colleagues in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology we offer B.S. degrees in biology and environmental science, as well as specialty tracks in cell, molecular and developmental biology, ecology/environmental biology, plant biology, microbiology, and biotechnology. The Department provides extensive internship and research opportunities for undergraduates and a M.S. degree in Integrative Biology. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a one semester Limited Term Instructor or Assistant Professor of Biology in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology beginning January 10, 2022. This non-tenure track teaching position is renewable for up to 4 semesters (not including summer semester). Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be determined by the terminal degree earned.

Teaching assignments may include lecture and/or laboratory sections as available in introductory biology (introductory cell biology), genetics, cell and molecular biology and/or microbiology. The standard teaching load for a limited term faculty is 15 contact hours of instruction per semester.

Required Qualifications
  • A Master's degree, or a foreign equivalent, in Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology or a related field is required for Instructor;
  • An earned doctorate (or its foreign equivalent) in Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, or a related field is required for professorial rank.
  • All applicants must have completed a minimum of 18 semester hours of graduate course work related to the assigned courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have college level teaching experience, evidence of focus on student success, evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community
