HAYES SCHOOL OF MUSIC: The Hayes School of Music consists of 410 music students and 50 full-time faculty and offers undergraduate degrees in music education, music therapy, music industry studies, and music performance with concentrations in instrumental or vocal performance, music theory/composition, and sacred music. Graduate degrees are offered in music therapy and music performance with concentrations in instrumental or vocal performance, music theory/composition and conducting, and a graduate certificate in theory pedagogy.

The Hayes School of Music prepares young musicians for professional lives as performers, composers, music educators, music therapists, conductors, scholars, and music industry professionals, ensuring the next generation of musical leadership for the state, region, and nation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This faculty member will provide applied instruction to undergraduate and graduate horn students, coach and conduct the horn ensemble and teach all brass components of the secondary methods courses (for undergraduate music education majors). Additional responsibilities include maintaining an active performance schedule, assisting with outreach and recruiting for the Hayes School of Music and full participation in the responsibilities of faculty membership (e.g. advising, curriculum development and service activities).The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment toward students of diverse musical backgrounds, perspectives, and interests.
