Position Highlights

The School of Nutrition Sciences and Wellness (NSW) seeks a qualified candidate to hire as a full-time Graduate Programs Coordinator. The successful candidate will manage the Nutritional Sciences Graduate Program (NSGP), Applied Nutrition Professional Science Masters (PSM) and the Graduate Certificate in Applied Nutrition (GCAN). This position works closely with in-person MS and PhD students, and online PSM and GCAN students. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure all program goals and objectives are accomplished, which include but are not limited to administrative support to the Directors of NSW graduate and professional programs, supporting functions including recruitment, admissions, financial assistance, enrollment, and degree completion.

Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate recruitment
activities: preparation,
distribution of recruiting materials; program advertising and outreach;
follow-up with potential applicants; scheduling and facilitating of applicant
interviews & activities (e.g., poster sessions, datablitz). Represents
the School at recruitment events, including national/regional conferences.
Communicates with and tracks interest of prospective students via phone,
email, zoom, and web-based conferencing.Develop and coordinate events and retreats for all three programs.
Support the scheduling and implementation of new student orientations.

Assist in the academic advising and
coordination of all graduate student activities: Advise students on enrollment policies and
procedures, discuss degree and admissions requirements, and assists students
with the application process. Ensure graduate student compliance with all
Graduate College policies and procedures. Tracks student progression toward
degree completion and assists with scheduling of dissertation and thesis
defenses and comprehensive exams. Processes documentation for graduate
students for graduation, including record changes, course waivers/transfers,
and forms for comprehensive exams/dissertation, defenses. Manage all graduate
student admissions processes: prepare admission applications for faculty
committee review, coordinate admissions with Graduate College admissions
specialists, advise Program Directors and faculty on all graduate admissions
policies and procedures.

Manage all fiscal operations: including
budget, travel and purchasing under the direction of the Program Directors
and School of Nutritional Sciences and Wellness Business Manager. Coordinate
all student financial support including the processing of all awards,
completion of graduate assistant/associate hiring, ensuring that students
meet eligibility. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and
instruction-related grant proposals. Coordinate all student financial support

Implement new financial policies and procedures.

Assist the Director of the NSGP and the
Director of Professional Programs with all day-to-day Graduate Student
Support Services (includes MS, PhD, PSM and Certificate students): Assist in
the evaluation of the program effectiveness and prepare assessment documents.
Coordinates or performs data collection, analysis, reporting, documentation,
and other duties to ensure accurate and timely processing or development of
required reports. Develops and updates program resources such as program
handbooks, guides, checklists, and other forms relevant to student
progression. Prepare all correspondence, meeting minutes, notices, and
manuals. Act as liaison with students, faculty, staff, and outside
communities in facilitating program objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment or advance
    learning attained through professional level experience required and a minimum
    of 3 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient experience in UAccess Student, Analytics, Employee and Financials.
  • Master's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment and 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Previous progressively responsible administrative coordinative program experience.
