Job Description

The Employee Engagement and Onboarding Coordinator will design, develop and implement a best in class onboarding program for the 1000+ new employees Virginia Tech hires on an annual basis. These programs will ensure that a new employee is comfortable before their first day and will help guide a new employee through their first year. Goals of this position include developing a sense of belonging to the VT community and professional development and training. The successful candidate will need the ability to work closely with the entire HR Talent Team (Talent Acquisition, Dual Career, Compensation, Employee Relations and Talent Development) as well as critical partners across Virginia Tech's campus. The Employee Engagement and Onboarding Coordinator will also be responsible for developing and communicating key metrics related to Onboarding as well as management of the Onboarding Portal with in the PageUp ATS system.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, HR, or related field OR equivalent level of education and work experience.
  • Experience working in a client/customer relationship business
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to meet established targets and work within critical milestones.
  • Experience with project management and project deliverables
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Software or other related ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with survey tools
  • Experience developing onboarding or employee engagement programs

Additional Information

This position can accommodate a hybrid telework arrangement with the expectation for an on-campus presence 2-3 days each week.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as documentation of COVID-19 vaccination.
