Director of Occupational Therapy

This position is designed to be responsible for the development, implementation, management, and administration of the entry-level Doctoral Degree Program in Occupational Therapy. The individual filling this position would also hold faculty rank commensurate with experience and be committed to strategies for professional development. Specific responsibilities associated with this position include maintenance of accreditation, evaluation, budgeting, selection of faculty and staff, and space and equipment planning.

The individual seeking this position should be someone with proven academic, clinical leadership and managerial accomplishments, who is able to successfully navigate a university structure to guide the program; model an interpersonal style and attitude needed to recruit and maintain high quality faculty, students and staff; create positive, collaborative relationships with administrators, colleagues, students and external constituents; and possess the vision, and technical / organization skills necessary to establish and maintain an academic division, sustain an innovative doctoral curriculum, and monitor the program evaluation and the operations of a graduate professional program.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., OTD, Sci.D.) from a regionally accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years of documented clinical, administrative and/or scholarly experience in occupational therapy in one of the following areas: adult & aging physical disabilities; adult & aging mental health; infants, children & youth medical and chronic disabilities; infants, children & youth mental health and learning and developmental disabilities; population/community health, wellness and prevention.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post-baccalaureate level.
  • Current NBCOT Certification
  • Current AOTA Membership
  • Current Massachusetts License to Practice
  • Valid Driver’s License
