Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applicants for instructor of data analytics, reporting to the dean of the School of Business.

Using collaborative, instructional technology, and innovative methods this position will provide instruction on information technology and data analytics at the undergraduate and graduate level. The ideal candidate will have experience in curriculum development and assessment. The successful candidate will teach management information systems at the undergraduate level and data and database management and information systems for managerial decision making at the graduate level.

This position will also be tasked with the creation of a data analytics undergraduate program. The first year responsibilities will be divided between teaching and program development. This will become a full-time teaching position in the second year. Additional responsibilities include the development of syllabi and coursework; advising students; and establishing and fostering community and institutional relationships to form partnerships that will assist students with networking and job opportunities. This position also assists with the recruitment of prospective students.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts college environment. To be considered for the instructor position, a candidate must hold a master’s degree in

data analytics, information technology or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred. This position is categorized as a full-time, nine-month instructor position, and depending upon program growth, development and instructor qualifications, the position could be converted to tenure-track over time.
