Job Summary
Serves as hands-on leader who works with leaders and cross-functional teams on key process improvement initiatives contributing to the universitys overall strategic plan while driving a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborates with senior leadership to prioritize projects and review results, managing cross-functional teams, and making presentations to stakeholders to introduce changed/new processes and project results. Duties also include managing improvement projects at the department to enterprise level and assisting in the development and documentation of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with campus leaders on process and performance improvement opportunities centered around improvement of the student experience
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the industry, communicating industry and trade best practices
  • Oversee all process improvement projects, track project plans, and collaborate with project leads to ensure appropriate completion and provide monthly reports to senior management
  • Validate process improvement projects are successful, intervening as necessary to adjust
  • Support the development of policies and procedures that promote continuous improvement
  • Educate and train on process management methodology and ideas, problem solving and prevention
  • Perform special studies and coordinate projects aimed at improving processes and practices at Kennesaw State University
  • Apply excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to successfully work with all levels of leadership, management, staff, students and contractors
  • Influence and lead cross-functional teams in an environment of competing interests and limited resources
  • Resolve complex issues with innovative solutions
  • Perform comprehensive business process reviews to determine specific areas of improvement and develop process improvement plans using process improvement framework tools (such as DMAIC)
  • Implement, modify and assess progress on improvement plans and achievement programs
  • Implement key business measures used to gauge the effectiveness and performance of a process or department
  • Recommend innovative business and technical solutions to improve operational efficiencies, effectiveness and overall customer/student experience
  • Research and identify opportunities to develop common procedures and best practices from within the industry
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Business or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Other Required Qualifications
Must Have Process Management Professional Certification or Green Belt in Lean, Six Sigma or related process improvement methodology-

Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience in process improvement function, including running large process improvement projects

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Certification

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Masters in Business Administration

Preferred Experience
Previous experience in higher education preferred
