The Department of Mathematics and Applied Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences is seeking an Assistant Professor of Engineering. Candidates in the broadly-defined field of mechanical engineering will be considered. These include but are not limited to advanced manufacturing and materials, artificial intelligence, sustainable engineering, robotics and mechatronics, simulation and applied mechanics, thermal-fluid science, and nano-technology. The selected candidate is also expected to direct student design projects and present a research agenda that leads to scholarly works, external funding, and student engagement. Candidates with previous teaching and/or industrial experience are preferred. Responsibilities of the position include teaching 18 credits per academic year, establishing an ongoing program of research, mentoring students in research, academic advising, and engaging in service activities that support the department, college, and university.
