Job Description:

The Department of Natural Sciences & Mathematics at Curry College invites applications for a full-time Forensic Science professor at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin late August 2022. Successful candidates will have experience teaching at the undergraduate level and the ability to establish and maintain an active research program that involves undergraduate students. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate evidence of effective teaching to diverse learners and experience in fostering a supportive learning environment using a variety of methodologies.

We seek candidates with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching that promotes inclusive and equity-minded learning environments. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in curriculum design and program development including learning outcomes and assessment to enhance our new Forensic Science program. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate introductory and upper-level forensic science courses: Forensic Science I & II, Forensic Photography, and Forensic Criminal Investigation. The successful candidate will also play an important role in developing Forensic Science elective courses to enhance the Forensic Science curriculum. In addition to Forensic Science courses, the candidate will also support our Science program by teaching introductory courses in Biology, Chemistry, and non-majors Science courses as determined by expertise.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. in the Natural Sciences, Forensic Science or related fields is strongly preferred, however a Master's degree in Forensic Science will be considered. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education, extensive experience in Forensic Science applications, and the ability to develop a robust laboratory or field-based research program that supports undergraduate research.
