The Lunar and Planetary Lab is seeking a skilled Administrative Support Assistant III to provide support to multiple members of the faculty and their research teams. The position requires an individual who can work independently and tackle the complexities of a research environment. The successful applicant must be someone who is highly motivated, energetic, a self-starter and excellent team player.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the resolution of administrative and business
    matters that supports the research programs.
  • Coordinate with the business manager for pre-award
    processing of submitting proposals to federal sponsors. Includes participation in the development
    of budgets.
  • Research vendors for purchase of complex scientific
    materials and equipment purchases. Prepares supporting documents for purchases and submits required
    documents for p-card reconciler.
  • Coordinates pre-travel arrangements and processes
    post-travel expenses.
  • Assist and support scientific meetings.
  • Assists Grants and Contracts Manager with budget management,
    including notifying faculty of submission deadlines and progress reports.
  • Provides explanation of established policy and procedure to
    LPL faculty and their research team.
  • May provide support to teaching faculty, including scanning
    notes, preparation of course exams requiring confidentiality.
  • Other related administrative duties as assigned.
  • Must have strong communication skills, develop and maintain good working relationships.
  • Must have ability to multi-task and handle interruptions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum
    of 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • High
    school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through
    experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and skill in organizing and establishing priorities.
  • Experience with Excel and Microsoft Office products.
  • UAccess (PeopleSoft) experience.
