The West Virginia University Department of Family Medicine at the Health Sciences Center is seeking applications for a part-time, benefits eligible, Program Coordinator.This position will manage and oversee coordination and implementation of the WVU "Finding Wellness" program. Responsible for maintaining, planning and conducting program objectives and initiatives aimed at improving personal health within the community. Coordinate and maintain partnerships with health professionals, public education and community outreach for the program.

In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for Finding Wellness Program, monitor and track programs progress, develop and implement strategies to address and reinforce positive practices.
  • Maintain strategic partnerships with health centers, healthcare professionals and participants. Develop and maintain extensive partnerships that further goals of WVU Finding Wellness Program in communi ties. Manage project logistical planning under the direction of Project Director.
  • Manages responsibility for budgetary decisions of the Finding Wellness Program.
  • Enrolls participants into the Finding Wellness Program. This includes monitoring the Epic Patient Referral Workqueue and community self-referrals and enrolling patients to participate.
  • Coordinates, designs and facilitates the development and implementation of a Finding Wellness marketing plan that includes: Development and dissemination of recruitment materials for participants. Development and dissemination of materials to encourage physicians to refer patients into the Finding Wellness Program. Plan for program expansion (additional communities, venues, etc.) Work with Prevention Research Center's Public Relation Specialist to disseminate program marketing materials through WVU media channels.
  • Monitor progress through quantitative benchmarks to ensure that high standards of liquidation are met. Submits plans, progress and evaluation reports to the Program Director and stakeholders.
  • Monitors, Sets and Achieves Program Goals and Achievement: Maintain up-to-date knowledge in order to manage a best- in-class customer experience.
  • Develops and conducts Finding Wellness patient retention protocol with all participants enrolled in the educational sessions and the Supermarket Safari.
  • Collaborates with the research team to plan implementation strategy and to implement consent forms, survey instruments, and other project measures.
  • Works in collaboration with the Project Director and the Prevention Research Center to develop a "How to Guide" for other communities to implement their own Finding Wellness Program.
  • Develops reports for various stakeholder groups to disseminate project findings. Supervise project staff and students and provide training on program protocols and procedures.

  • Master's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in project/event coordination/management
  • One (1) year of experience working with the WVU EPIC System
  • Maintains skills in, or knowledge of, professional principles, and reporting requirements affecting area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for program development and community outreach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Skilled at writing correspondence and preparing reports.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
