The Department of Radiology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is seeking applicants for a full time Musculoskeletal Radiologist. This is a faculty position that reports to the Department Chair.
The successful candidate will become a member of the Musculoskeletal RadiologySection and will provide primary diagnostic and consultative service in Diagnostic Radiologyfor exams performed at multiple locations. Section members typically interpret exams and perform procedures for UNMH, VA, SRMC and Cancer Center. Section members may work at UNMH, SRMC or the VA although the primary rotation is at UNMH. All faculty are responsible for teaching and overseeing diagnostic radiology residents, fellows, and medical students. All faculty participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary conferences. Most daily clinical assignments will involve direct resident and fellow supervision. All faculty contribute to resident didactic education and are encouraged to engage in clinical research or other scholarly activities. Research opportunities include diverse and growing translational imaging and image processing facilities and are supported by dedicated research and publications staff.
The Department of Radiology provides services for the UNM Hospital which is a 580-bed Level 1 Trauma and Tertiary Care Center; UNM Children's Hospital, the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center; the 71-bed Sandoval Regional Medical Center; and the 320-bed Veteran's Affairs Medical Center. Salary and academic rank for this position will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and academic background.Qualifications Minimum
Requirements for this position are as follows:
- MD or equivalent
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Board certified or Board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology by contract start date.
- State of New Mexico Medical License (or eligibility) by contract start date.
Qualifications for this position are as follows:
- Fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology or commensurate experience in musculoskeletal imaging
- Previous academic and radiology teaching experience.
