Job Description

Senior Assistant Director for Enrollment Marketing will have a hands-on role in implementing strategic marketing strategies and companion strategies that drive and support annual enrollment goals, increase awareness, and contribute to the overall success of Saint Peter's University. The position works in collaboration with the Executive Director of Marketing, Enrollment Management, and academic teams to meet goals for assigned projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
  • Be a partner and key leader of marketing strategies set forth by the senior enrollment management and marketing leadership to achieve overall enrollment and revenue goals
  • Utilize interpersonal, organizational, communication and writing skills to develop and execute content to support the effective marketing of the University to prospective undergraduate and graduate students throughout the entire enrollment process.
  • Work collaboratively with Enrollment Marketing team to ensure that all marketing reflects consistent and timely on-brand messages.
  • Lead specific projects and campaigns including analytics associated with success.
  • Provide thought leadership and expertise in implementing new modalities for effectiveness in recruitment and enrollment; provide feedback on how to improve use of current mediums. Work with the Executive Director, Directors, AVP and VP to optimize CRM capabilities. Identify potential areas of new data to be utilized for influencing and building new streams of communication and message points in order to increase engagement.
  • Provide content and oversight for various website pages; this position will be responsible for regular updates and collaborating with departments to obtain content.
  • Develop and present reporting on marketing and communication projects.
  • Assist with developing and executing automated communication flows (i.e. drip e-mail and text message campaigns). This includes but is not limited to developing content, scheduling release of campaigns, identifying target audiences, proofing messages, and monitoring campaign metrics and performance. Requires extensive use of CRM system (Slate).
  • Participate in the development of print, video, email, and other marketing collateral for Enrollment Marketing. Collaborate with external and internal agents (staff, faculty, designers, photographers et al.) when appropriate, and act as a key contributor to writing copy for enrollment projects. 
  • Collaborate on the strategic implementation of the social media plan and serve as a member of the University's social media committee.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external university partners. 
  • Remain current on trends and best practices in marketing, with a focus on higher education and enrollment.
  • Manage and supervise student intern(s) in the Enrollment Marketing area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Standards
  • Good copywriting and editorial skills e.g. proven ability to craft messages that inspire, engage, inform, influence, and contribute to the success of enrollment goals.
  • Strong organization and project management skills e.g. demonstrated success in managing strategic projects across print and digital channels.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across an innovative, fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible thinking and nimble problem-solving.
  • Sense of humor and willingness to have fun.

 Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), and a minimum of one to three years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field. 


Experience with a CRM System (Slate preferred), Basecamp (project management), with a working knowledge of Google Ad-Words, Google Analytics, and digital and social media campaigns

Experience in online marketing and automation techniques within an environment of achieving established targets.
