Job Description

Working as a member of the
Academic Services team under the supervision of the Associate Registrar for
Curriculum Management, Course Offering and Scheduling the Assistant Registrar
role will be responsible for the following:

Curriculum Management:
Reviewing, approving and
tracking new and updated course offerings via Curriculum Management online
tool.

Coordinating training for
academic department personnel on best practices in Curriculum Management.

Course
Management/Scheduling:
Working with the
Associate Director and Course Administration Specialist to coordinate the
scheduling of all classes and exams in the university's classroom space.

Monitoring, reviewing and transmitting guidelines for the creation
of the master course schedule including the preparation of each department's
course offerings, instructors, class size, seat pools, days, times, locations,
and special classroom characteristics.

Analyzing time
allotments to academic departments and re-balancing allotments each year to
ensure equity across departments. Exercising critical thinking and sound
judgment when evaluating and making decisions on competing requests for limited
space.

Reviewing and
normalizing course data submitted by departments. Being a steward for the
enforcement of critical deadlines. Ensuring the quality of data related to
time, instructor, and location. Responsible for the coordination of the
proofing and signing off of the final course schedule for release to students.

Coordinating the
monitoring, review, and proofing of the examination schedule for each
term. Evaluating and monitoring academic
department requests for overflow space, additional examination times, make-up
examinations, and course review space.

Misc:
Coordinating the training of new staff in academic departments to
develop and maintain their master course schedule as well as reviewing best
practices on course set up.

Coordinating the
management of course enrollments, via seat pools, throughout the summer to
ensure even course distribution during freshman registration sessions.

Collaborating
regularly with the staff in Space Planning, Media Technology Services, Academic
Technology Services, Capital Projects Management, and Events Management.

Attending
meetings and serving on task forces related to classroom construction.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $52,400 to $65,500; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
required, Masters preferred.

Expert use of Microsoft office suite, google platform, familiarity with
25Live scheduling software and other educational software preferred.

Three to five years of higher education administrative experience
preferably in course management and scheduling or similar registrar office role
preferred.

Ability to
multi-task, manage frequent interruptions, and work effectively in a team-based
environment. Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
required along with a can do attitude.

Expect a fast-paced, challenging, rewarding role
in a student services environment that operates within the Enrollment
Management unit, which is in the midst of the development and implementation of
a new student information system in collaboration with other university
partners.
