Department: Asthma/Airway Disease Rsch Ctr
Location: UAHS - Tucson
Address: 1230 N Cherry Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719 USA
Position HighlightsThe Asthma & Airway Disease Research Center (A2DRC) seeks an outstanding candidate for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Dr. Cusanovich's lab. This lab develops single-cell genomic technologies and uses them to study the lung and better understand why individuals develop diseases such as asthma. The lab works with both primary samples and animal/culture models. The ideal candidate should be a motivated, independent individual who will drive research projects, apply for external funding, write manuscripts, and present findings at conferences. The person in this role will report directly to the Principal Investigator. Additionally, the selected candidate will be responsible for designing experiments, keeping accurate and current records of specific experiments performed, and mentoring more junior members of the lab in basic techniques in the lab.
The A2DRC is led by Fernando D. Martinez, MD. Since the 1970's the A2DRC has conducted interdisciplinary research and translational medicine that integrates clinical medicine with epidemiology, immunology, genetics, epigenetics, pharmacology and cutting-edge technology in order to understand and treat airway disease. The center's mission is to improve our understanding of the risk factors, natural history, biology and treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!
