Job Description

As a member of the Facilities and Operations Department, under the direction of the Construction Trades Manager the Trades Utilities floor coverings and tile specialist is responsible for all aspects of floor covering and tile repair and replacement for the department. This includes a variety of functions such as installation and repair of carpet, ceramic tile, VCT and other hard surface floorings. Installation and repair of solid surface materials. Make recommendations for proper products and installation within the department. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently or as a member of a team with a focus on providing excellent customer service.

Required Qualifications

Required: Previous experience with a variety of floor coverings applications and materials. Previous experience with the installation and repair of all types of floor coverings and ceramic floor and wall tile. Experience using Schlutter waterproofing system. Previous experience with minor plumbing tasks including removal and resetting of various fixtures. Extensive knowledge of floor covering products and techniques. Previous experience estimating and ordering materials. Previous experience with general flooring and tile maintenance of commercial or institutional buildings. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
Must be certified to remove asbestos or be willing and able to become certified.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience installing cultured marble or solid surface material.

Salary range starting at $38,000, commensurate with experience.
