Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for supporting the functions of each of the following academic units: English, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Religion, History, and ISTP. Chief tasks include general administrative functions, assisting students and faculty, maintaining budgets, and other specific tasks as requested.

Scope

Supporting the academic units of English, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Religion, History, and ISTP through administrative and program tasks and accommodating smooth office flow.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Perform all financial activities associated with division/program accounts including budget tracking and auditing, credit card purchases and reconciliation, submission of purchase orders, etc.
  • Maintain student and fiscal records
  • Maintain and order office and teaching supplies
  • Manage program calendars, class schedules, and schedule changes
  • Complete adjunct contract requests in coordination with Assistant Director and other faculty
  • Maintain syllabi, faculty office hours, and division meeting minutes electronically
  • Hire, schedule and supervise student workers
  • Maintain program and division websites
  • Aid in the organization of division events
  • Support various needs of students and faculty
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills

  • Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of University administrative policies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to learn and work with various software programs
  • Strong initiative skills
  • Ability to work in small groups or project teams
  • Ability to perform complex procedures using appropriate analytic skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • At least two to five years of similar office experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Banner database
  • Experience with Web editing
