Department Information
As one of the largest departments at Kennesaw State University, the Department of Mathematics currently has over 60 full-time faculty members and offers programs of undergraduate study. The department serves over 170 majors seeking B.S. degrees in Mathematics. A vibrant and active culture exists within the department with weekly seminars, student organizations, and a yearly conference focused on undergraduate research. The department has a strong commitment to fostering collegiality, inclusive excellence, and engagement as part of the College of Science and Mathematics' Student Success Initiative (SSI). The SSI has an imperative for including and fostering success for students from a diversity of backgrounds in STEM degree programs. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the Department of Mathematics beginning January 2022. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
The Department of Mathematics at Kennesaw State University is creating a pool of applicants in anticipation of future openings for part-time faculty to teach undergraduate (mostly, but not limited to, entry level) mathematics courses. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, developing assessments, holding office hours, and assessing students' mastery of learning outcomes.

The College's Student Success Initiative has an imperative for including and fostering success for students from a diversity of backgrounds in STEM degree programs. Successful applicants will be strongly committed to inclusive teaching practices and invested in fostering student success.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Mathematics, or a closely related field required for Instructor; Earned doctorate, or its foreign equivalent in Mathematics or a closely related field required for professorial ranks. All applicants must have earned 18 hours of graduate level mathematics credit.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching of collegiate mathematics courses
  • Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community
