As one of the largest departments at Kennesaw State University, the Department of Mathematics currently has over 70 full-time faculty members. The department serves over 140 majors seeking the B.S. in Mathematics degree. A vibrant and active culture exists within the department with weekly seminars, student organizations, and a regularly occurring conference focused on undergraduate research. The department has a strong commitment to fostering collegiality, inclusive excellence, and engagement as part of the College of Science and Mathematics' Student Success Initiative (SSI). Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Mathematics faculty position in the Department of Mathematics beginning in August 2022.
The standard teaching load for a lecturer is 27 credit hours per academic year. Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching mathematics courses ranging from general education courses through more advanced mathematics courses (depending on qualifications). Successful applicants will be strongly committed to inclusive teaching practices and student success among the college's disciplines and be ready to invest deeply in KSU students. Service to the department or institution is also required.
An earned doctorate or master's degree (or its foreign equivalent) in mathematics from an accredited university is required. In order to be considered for the position, the applicant must have completed at least 18 hours of course work in mathematics at the graduate level.
