Job DescriptionSyracuse University Falk college invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Sport Management beginning in the Fall 2022 semester. A strong research background in diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in sport is desirable. Additional expertise in any specialty areas of sport management, especially sport facilities and event management and/or E-sports, is desirable. The Department of Sport Management in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, offers a B.S. degree in Sport Management, B.S. in Sport Analytics, M.S. in Sport Venue and Event Management, and a CAS in Sport Analytics.
QualificationsAn earned doctorate in sport management or a related field or equivalent terminal degree is required. A record of demonstrated teaching competence and ability to teach a variety of sport management courses, along with scholarly accomplishment at the collegiate level, is required. Appointment to faculty rank is open based on the appropriate level of scholarship and teaching. The overriding requirement for faculty appointment, reappointment and promotion within the University Tenure Line must be distinguished performance and future promise of distinguished performance.

ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties include, but are not limited to, undergraduate and graduate instruction in the Department of Sport Management. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will conduct individual and collaborative research relative to one's field of interest; provide academic advising to students that includes course selection and strategic career planning; become an active participant in scholarly activities and civic engagement, service to the College and effectively handle other responsibilities associated with being a faculty member. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with other academic units and departments across the academic community and with sport industry practitioners.
