Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the full-time position of Housing Custodial Supervisor (Building/Grounds Specialist III) in University Housing.
Duties include, but are not limited to: oversee and direct job functions of full-time, temporary and student staff; planning, organizing and prioritizing work activities. Manage and deliver expectations and performance standards; including employee conflict and interpersonal challenges in a professional, collaborative, and restorative manner; oversee comprehensive custodial cleaning program for all grounds, resident rooms, offices, community desks, activity houses/multi-purpose and programming spaces, corridors, breezeways, stairwells, floors, public restrooms, and common spaces in University Housing facilities; inspect facilities daily for safety and cleanliness; ensuring quality control standards are met and addressing areas of improvement; manage safety and cleanliness standards, identifying exceptional work as well as concerns with staff; request, allocate, and manage equipment and materials; maintain supplies in proactive and responsible manner, utilizing proper storage and ordering protocols; oversee annual and ongoing cleaning of all residential rooms, including strategic planning and camps and conferences operation; collaborate with staff and constituents; manage protocols in emergencies; including non-routine and complex custodial functions; models, promotes and ensures exceptional customer service delivery to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large; and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of three (3) years custodial experience in a multi-building/community environment. Must pass a background check and have a valid South Carolina driver's license and 3-year driving record.
Must be able to perform constant, intense physical labor; regularly move & use equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform duties requiring push/pull activity, hand/finger coordination, constant repetitive motion of wrist, arm & shoulder; reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, & kneel; work with chemicals, dust, fumes and odors associated with custodial work. Must be able to wear safety and protective equipment as needed. Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of environmental conditions.

Building/Grounds Specialist III (KA15/149726/FTE-S00505P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 03. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs
Required QualificationsA high school diploma. Minimum three years custodial experience in a multi-building/community environment.

Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to deal courteously with the public and students. Ability to work independently and supervise employees. Knowledge of operation and use of equipment and tools used in the care and cleaning of buildings. Knowledge of custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures preferred. Ability to inventory, order and maintain supplies as needed. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
