We are hiring part-time Temporary Health Survey Research Aides for a series of community-based research studies funded by Cornell University. As part of this project, we will be conducting a series of projects across the U.S. that will examine intersections between culture, politics, and health. This IRB-approved research will consist primarily of qualitative interviews and brief surveys with individuals and various professional/community stakeholders.

We are seeking professional, organized Research Aides to support our recruitment of participants and data collection efforts. This is a paid part-time position which will begin in approximately mid-October at last up to a year with the possibility of extension. Primary responsibilities for this position will be to help coordinate data collection. This will consist of making and receiving calls from current and prospective participants and doing various recruitment screenings. The Temporary Health Survey Research Aides will also conduct surveys and qualitative interviews in-person and remotely. There will be no cold calls--all communications will be with existing participants or individuals who have indicated an interest in the research project. Scheduling is somewhat flexible. The average hourly workload will be between 7 and 15 hours a week, however this may vary. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Job Duties:
- Recruiting and screening participants for studies via phone/Zoom (no cold calls)
- Making and receiving phone calls about studies
- Conducting surveys or interviews in-person and via phone/Zoom
- Entering and managing screening and survey data in a database
- Other optional professional development opportunities

Requirements:

  • Outgoing personality and willingness to interact with diverse people via phone, email and possibly Zoom
  • Demonstrated interest in public health or social services
  • Must live in or near New York City, (no exceptions)
  • As Associates degree of higher
  • Experience using a laptop or tablet (e.g., Microsoft Surface or Apple iPad)
  • Access to laptop or tablet and reliable wireless internet at home
  • Excellent email/phone communication and reading/writing skills
