Alumni Relations and Events Specialist

Frostburg State University, University Advancement Division, is accepting applications for a full-time, exempt Alumni Relations and Events Specialist. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes the robust University System of Maryland benefits package.

Responsibilities: Working in coordination with the Director of Alumni and Donor Relations, this position is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of alumni and donor programming. Duties including but not limited to alumni/donor events, social media outreach, and advisor of Student Alumni Ambassadors and coordination of their efforts. Other work-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and professional experience in event planning, program management, business, or related field. Proven ability to successfully coordinate and execute events and programming, as well as to build and maintain relationships with internal and external constituents and vendors. Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Willingness to work evenings and weekends, with possible travel.

Preferred Qualifications: At least three years of experience working in event and relationship management. Excellent interpersonal, writing, speaking, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team. Ability to multi-task and keep multiple projects on schedule. Computer skills to perform the duties of the position, including working knowledge of shared database systems and Microsoft Office.

Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
