The Role:

You will need to live in the Eastern United States to be considered. Flexible (remote) work is an option; however, preference will be given to candidates in locations with a WGU office: Cincinnati, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; or Nashville, Tennessee.

The Regional Marketing Manager (East Region) is responsible for understanding the strategy, plan, goals and performance of assigned region and field outreach team, and how these efforts will contribute growth to our four colleges. In this role, you will report to our Director of Media and focus on the day-to-day management and enablement of regional media campaigns and field partnership marketing. You will partner with the Regional Vice President and Strategic Partnership Managers to develop plans and tactics that align to key strategic initiatives set through collaborative planning. You will work closely with our enterprise services and college marketing teams to understand their challenges and field outreach needs and recommend and implement solutions. To be successful, you will need to gain a deep understanding of university program offerings and audiences, facilitating media and field outreach to potential audiences to include business and consumer messaging, materials, and training. We are looking for someone with extensive marketing experience, including strategic marketing planning, national and local offline and digital media, creative project management, who excel in collaborating with other and managing relationships.

What you will do:
  • Work across assigned regions and teams to understand their field outreach goals and marketing needs

  • Execute on key initiatives and strategies across audiences, including B2B and B2C, ensuring key goals are met

  • Act as strategic liaison for field initiatives, including the development of audience marketing, training, and materials

  • Support brand director in creative strategy for B2B creative that aligns with audience personas, messaging pillars, goals, and university creative strategies

  • Work closely with the brand and creative teams on ensuring that requests are accurate and on brand and aligned with key objectives and key performance indicators for region success

  • Work closely with the media teams on budgets, media placements, and optimization to goals

  • Work closely with field teams on product and audience messaging training for employee onboarding

  • Work with analytics team to develop and understand region and field marketing tracking, performance reporting, insights, and recommendations

  • Manage regular reporting and communications with leadership teams

  • Manage and mentor marketing coordinator

  • Oversee marketing administration projects like budget tracking and purchase orders as required

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications

  • 5-10 years' experience in marketing, with business-to-business, B2B, experience preferred

  • Experience developing and executing field marketing strategies and cross-channel plans

  • Experience managing marketing and communications projects

  • Strong background working with clients and cross-departmental or cross-functional teams

  • Exceptional strategic planning and critical thinking to meet objectives and key goals

  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage creative development and media projects

  • Tenacity with follow-up and ensuring that deadlines are met

  • Client or key stakeholder communication experience. Must be able to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with staff and all levels of the university

  • Strong quantitative skills - adept with spreadsheets and comfortable with statistical data. Will need to learn use of internal databases. Tableau experience a plus

  • Ability to be data driven in decision making - strong strategic analysis with the ability to review data and research reports and identify significant trends and opportunities

  • Ability to track and manage complex budgets

  • Demonstrated professionalism with strong judgement and professional integrity.

  • Ability to write clearly and persuasively

  • Strong MS Office Skills and Workfront experience a plus
