Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a point person to staff and faculty regarding but not limited to recruitment, benefits, and other HR related services. This postiion will report to the Human Resources Vice President.

Principal Duties:

  • Provide full-cycle recruitment support for all open vacancies including posting jobs, pre-screening resumes, scheduling of interviews, extending offers, and running background checks
  • Respond to inquiries regarding organization's policies, procedures, and benefits
  • Assist in the resolution of employee relation matters including disciplinary action and conflict resolution
  • Maintain confidential employment data, health records, and electronic data utilizing HRIS database
  • Work closely with payroll to ensure accurate processing of employee information
  • Support manager of HR in the development and interpretation of policies and procedures
  • Process tuition reimbursements, employee verifications, and other inquiries
  • Facilitate the onboarding and exiting process for all employees
  • Coordinate the processing of annual performance evaluations
  • Assist with managing the annual contract process
  • Manage FMLA process
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Create and deliver training programs

Position Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of state employment laws and federal employment law
  • Prior benefit administration experience
  • Ability to relate and communicate with all levels of employees through excellent listening and communication skills that engender trust and support
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office, in particular, MS Word and Excel
  • Previous experience with HRIS databases
  • Previous experience with Applicant Tracking System)
  • Bachelor's degree accepted, Master's preferred
  • At least two years of generalist experience (higher education a plus)
