Description of Work Unit

The International Studies Program is an interdisciplinary undergraduate major within the College of Liberal Arts engaging International Affairs, Geography, Political Science, History, Anthropology, Economics, Foreign Languages and Literatures, and other fields.

Position Summary

The International Studies Program hires temporary, part-time instructors from an applicant pool for fall, spring, and/or summer terms to teach core curriculum courses, including approaches to globalization, research methods, and the International Studies capstone seminar.

Conditions of Employment

Required Job Qualifications
  • A master's degree or ABD status in a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple world regions.
  • College-level teaching experience.
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Experience teaching interdisciplinary subjects
  • Experience teaching courses in International or Global Studies
  • A Ph.D. in a related field
  • Ability to advance Department's commitment to diversity and inclusion through teaching and outreach

Applicants are added to the pool list throughout the calendar year. Hiring decisions are made during the spring or summer for fall semester, during the fall semester for spring, and during the spring semester for the summer term.

This pool expires December 31, 2021. Individuals wishing to be considered beyond this date must reapply.
