Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of Health Promotion and Wellness, the Registered Dietitian guides and provides nutrition education and nutrition counseling to KSU students. This position will also be responsible for providing and evaluating nutrition education programs including eating disorders, sports nutrition, nutrition for health maintenance and prevention of chronic diseases, basic healthy cooking skills, and other related topics. This position will serve as a campus resource person and provide external referrals as needed. This position will also be responsible for maintaining records, reports, and files according to state and federal regulations.

This position is contingent upon funding from a non-university source and has a two-year commitment. Employment beyond the duration of the funding is not guaranteed. This position is subject to all Kennesaw State Universities' policies and regulations.

1. Provides one-on-one nutritional counseling for students and provides follow up care as needed
2. Oversees Wellness Education and Cooking Demonstration kitchen; develops, implements and evaluates cooking demonstration classes for students
3. Maintains records and files according to state and federal regulations as well as compiles monthly/annual reports for department
4. Interprets health assessment results and uses data to plan, promote, implement, and evaluate nutrition education programs for students (nutrition workshops, guest lectures, and outreach programs)
5. Collaborates with Counseling and Psychological Services and Student Health Services in providing nutrition counseling for students with eating disorders or chronic health conditions

6. Provides eating disorder recovery support to collegiate recovery community in collaboration with the Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery
7. Coordinates, supervises and evaluates occasional employees, student interns, and assistants
8. Assists with grant writing and funding/sponsorship proposals
9. Participates in dietetics continuing education to maintain registration and licensure

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelors degree in nutrition related field from an accredited university, college and course work approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics

Other Required Qualifications
Must be registered/licenses in the State of Georgia OR Registration eligible with Commission on Dietetic Registration and license eligible in the State of Georgia within four (4) weeks of hire.

Required Experience
Two (2) years related work experience in higher education and/or related field of study, includingsupervised practice program internship at a health-care facility, community agency, and afoodservice management related field
