Job Description

Serve as a part-time Office Assistant and will provide office assistance to the university's International Support Services office, housed within the Office of International Affairs, in support of the university's scholar, faculty and staff immigration-related sponsorship programs. This is a part-time 20 hour per week position. Must work 4 to 5 days per week, but hours can be flexible. Provide administrative and clerical support.

Responsibilities include entering data into case management system, copying, filing, shredding, recycling, archiving, maintaining listservs, creating packets and folders, maintaining spreadsheets, preparing packages for mailing, communicating with university departments and international visitors/faculty/staff, assisting with website updates, and other duties as assigned. Will also serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer for the Department of Homeland Security SEVIS system and enter data into the SEVIS system. Some driving on campus is necessary, collecting items from the bursar, the office of legal counsel, and other university offices as needed,

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and proven ability to meet deadlines and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, cultural sensitivity
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Must have access to a vehicle during working hours, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to purchase a university parking pass.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident as will serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer for the Department of Homeland Security SEVIS system.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of university systems and data management programs
  • Knowledge of Immigration Tracker or other case management program
  • Experience working in a law or university international office handling immigration cases or a compliance-driven office setting
